This was the last King of Fighters developed for the NEO•GEO system and it is a much improved tag team system, allowing players to link together combos between two fighters tagging in and out during game play.

Initially, King of Fighters 2003 was released as a PCB board first, later to distributed as a cart for those who had MVS boards. At the get-go King of Fighters 2003 PCB (which is very limited) sold for $1950-2100.00 during it's first week.
Two weeks after the release of the PCB, King of Fighters 2003 was released in MVS cartridge format at a starting price of $800.00.
We purchased this kit the first day the cartridge format was made available, hence, we paid market rate at that time.
